Diamir World Backcountry Freeride Jam
April 18 – 20, 2008

Free Telemark Skills, Backcountry AT and Splitboard Clinics

27.03.08 - Whistler, B.C. – The Jam has always been about the backcountry and it doesn’t matter what is on your feet…accessing the pow and the spectacular alpine is what it is all about. So if you want to take your telemarking to the next level or just give it a try with some free instruction, the Scarpa telemark instructors are there to help you out. You can even take some runs on next years telemark gear from Scarpa and many other telemark equipment suppliers who will be at the demo.
What if you want to try the Alpine Touring experience? Well Whistler Alpine Guides Bureau will be on hand for free clinics on how to travel safely and efficiently in the backcountry. Whether it is a briefing on avalanches, avalanche safety equipment, alpine touring gear or simply a chance to get to know your way around the Whistler backcountry, free tours and clinics will be available.
What if you ride a snowboard? Well then Whistler’s own Prior snowboards will be on hand with their Splitboard setups for people to demo and test in the out-or-bounds. If you want to try it for the first time, you can hook up with one of the guided tours heading out with the Whistler Alpine Guides Bureau to test the uphill and the downhill performance.

Pre-registration is recommended for all the free tours and clinics. Contact the Escape Route (604 938 3228) or Whistler Alpine Guides Bureau (604 938 9242).
